MSP Research: Bridging the Gap Between AI Ambition and Execution

AI is quickly becoming a core service offering – but not all MSPs are equally prepared to deliver AI services at scale. 

New research from AvePoint and Omdia highlights the real differentiator is not access to AI technology, but the ability to govern and scale it across customers. While 94% of MSPs are prioritizing AI-related data readiness and compliance, only 43% report high operational maturity. 

What the research shows: 

• Governance and compliance are the #1 barrier to AI adoption (51%)
• Multi-tenant complexity is limiting automation for 40% of MSPs
• Demand is shifting toward integrated platforms over point solutions 

At the same time, compliance services are projected to grow 21% in 2026 – creating a clear opportunity for MSPs that can bridge the operational gap.
