Indeno GmbH, headquartered in Graz, Austria, was founded in 2021 and is now present at multiple locations in Austria and Germany. As a partner for forward-looking IT modernization, Indeno supports companies in transitioning from legacy systems to modern digital infrastructures. Under the guiding principle "From Legacy to Leading-Edge," the company enables both regional and international clients to achieve a secure, efficient, and scalable transformation to the cloud.
Indeno GmbH’s service portfolio includes comprehensive IT consulting, cloud services, and infrastructure services. This encompasses customized hybrid, cloud, and data center solutions, modern workplace and collaboration based on Microsoft 365, as well as extensive offerings in connectivity and cybersecurity — from identity management to SIEM and SOC. In addition, Indeno provides professional and managed services in IT strategy, change management, and service delivery. Its clients include small and medium-sized enterprises, large corporations, and international companies across various industries in Austria, Germany, and other countries.
The Challenge
A central challenge for Indeno GmbH is the lack of transparency and consistency within its clients’ Microsoft 365 environments, particularly regarding security and configuration settings. The multitude of different workloads, such as Exchange Online or SharePoint Online, makes it difficult for Indeno to manage configurations consistently, deploy them cleanly, and continuously monitor deviations. Especially with new deployments, it becomes clear that a standardized and reliable foundation is required.
In the area of Microsoft 365 security, it became evident that security-relevant settings are increasingly scattered and overlap across multiple services. This highlighted the need for a solution that offers both intuitive usability and sufficient functional depth across different workloads while also allowing easy maintenance of various baselines. With the introduction of AvePoint Baseline Management, a tool was finally available that met these requirements and enabled efficient, scalable management of security-critical configurations.
With AvePoint Elements, Indeno GmbH can now efficiently manage its own security baselines, continuously develop them, and roll them out repeatedly across multiple clients, including automated monitoring of configuration drift. In shared environments, this creates significant added value by sustainably increasing transparency, security, and operational efficiency.
The AvePoint Solution
AvePoint Elements, particularly the Baseline Management module, was selected because it provides exceptional coverage of security and configuration-relevant settings across numerous Microsoft 365 workloads. The central, intuitively designed interface within Elements greatly simplifies technical operations, combining ease of use with extensive functionality. Key deciding factors were also the strong price-performance ratio and the high level of trust in AvePoint’s expertise in information security and compliance.
With AvePoint, security baselines can be centrally managed, consistently deployed, and continuously monitored without the need for complex tools or additional manual effort. Teams benefit from a secure, scalable, and efficient operational environment.
Expansion of the Managed Service Portfolio
Even before implementing Elements, Indeno GmbH had a broad managed service portfolio in the Microsoft ecosystem, including Managed Microsoft Azure, Managed Microsoft 365, and Managed Microsoft Intune. Additional services were also offered, such as the App Repository with over 35,000 pre-packaged applications.
With AvePoint, this portfolio has been further expanded. In the IDCONSULTING area, additional services can now be provided, such as Microsoft 365 Security Assessments, Storage Assessments, Copilot Readiness Assessments, and Security Baseline Implementations. This allows both the Microsoft 365 tenants of Indeno’s clients and, in Partner2Partner projects, the tenants of partner clients to be analyzed, secured, and optimized more effectively.
Focus on Microsoft Workloads & Compliance
Baseline Management and Cloud Backup for Microsoft 365 are particularly commonly used. The implementation of Elements was straightforward and seamless. The focus is clearly on Microsoft 365 workloads. The ability to standardize configurations, reliably meet compliance requirements, and simultaneously reduce potential sources of error is especially valuable. The expanded managed service offering has been consistently well received by clients and partners.
Outcomes
The introduction of AvePoint Elements has significantly simplified and automated internal processes in security baseline management. The impact is particularly evident when setting up new Microsoft 365 tenants: what previously took around 30 work hours, including follow-up work, now takes less than one hour, with only about 30 minutes of active effort in the best case. At the same time, a Microsoft 365 tenant is provisioned with a Secure Score of over 85 percent. These results clearly demonstrate the substantial increase in efficiency and quality achieved through AvePoint Elements.
Internal feedback has also been extremely positive. Employees especially highlight the intuitive interface and noticeable time savings in daily operations. Overall, AvePoint Elements enables a modern, scalable, and standardized provisioning of secure Microsoft 365 environments — a decisive advantage for a growing service business.
