About the position: 

As the Director of Demo Engineering will oversee the development and expansion of a centralized Demo Engineering function at AvePoint. This strategic capability enhances the effectiveness of Solutions Engineering teams in delivering consistent, high-quality demos that align with AvePoint’s product vision and sales objectives. The function promotes uniformity, technical proficiency, and innovation in demonstrating solutions across Microsoft platforms, multicloud environments, and emerging workloads. 

What this role will lead:

  • Lead and Develop a Demo Engineering Team: Responsible for recruiting, mentoring, and managing a dedicated group tasked with the creation, maintenance, automation, and technical narrative of demo platforms. 
  • Oversee Demo Strategy Across: Collaborate closely with VP, Solution Engineering and Solutions Engineering leadership to align demonstration capabilities with sales initiatives, competitive strategy, and product evolution. 
  • Advance Presales Excellence: Design and implement scalable, impactful demo environments that streamline preparation for field teams, enhancing both the technical quality and consistency of customer interactions. 
  • Foster Cross-Functional Collaboration: Engage directly with Product, R&D, Product Marketing, and Sales departments to ensure demo collateral reflects roadmap updates, messaging priorities, and customer feedback. 
  • Develop Assets for Sales Teams: Partner with cross-functional teams to create supplementary stories and materials, empowering sales and channel teams to deliver compelling demonstrations independently of presales engineering support. 
  • Team Enablement: The team will be responsible for documenting and training team members on new stories and outcomes available. 

Core Competencies: 

  • 8+ years of experience in demo engineering, presales engineering, or a related SaaS/technology role, including leadership experience.
  • Proven people leader with experience building, managing, and developing high‑performing technical teams.
  • Strong technical background with hands‑on experience supporting demo platforms, presales environments, or customer‑facing technical solutions.
  • Solid understanding of enterprise SaaS market trends, competitive positioning, and hyperscaler ecosystems.
  • Experience partnering cross‑functionally with Product, Engineering, Marketing, and Sales teams.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and technical storytelling skills.
  • Strategic problem‑solver with the ability to drive continuous improvement and operational consistency.
  • Ability to mentor, train, and enable technical team members and field stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and priorities in a fast‑paced environment.

The Salary Range for this role is $185,000 - $230,000. At AvePoint, we strive to offer competitive, fair, and equitable total rewards. The listed salary range represents a good faith estimate, with final offers based on location, experience, skills, and qualifications. The listed range reflects base salary only; our total rewards include base salary, comprehensive benefits (medical, dental, vision, 401(k) with match, unlimited PTO), and depending on the role, bonuses, commissions, or equity (RSUs).
