The April release of AvePoint Elements introduces focused enhancements that help managed service providers (MSPs) and IT teams better understand license usage, manage configuration drift with greater precision, and strengthen security operations across tenants. From cross-tenant license reporting and enhanced baseline management to expanded Intune and Azure security capabilities, this update delivers clearer insight and stronger control at scale.
Operationalize Data Security at Scale
Workspace Management in AvePoint Elements helps organizations close the “last mile” gap between risk detection and remediation by enabling data owners to resolve issues directly within their everyday workflows. Rather than relying on technical alerts or manual intervention from IT teams, business users receive plain‑language notifications that explain risks such as oversharing, outdated access, or workspace lifecycle issues.
Guided remediation actions allow users to resolve risks in seconds, directly within Microsoft 365. By shifting remediation closer to the people who own and understand the data, organizations can scale governance more effectively, strengthen collaboration, and reduce reliance on IT without compromising security.
This release expands these capabilities with guided data‑owner remediation workflows that surface oversharing, access, and workspace health issues and enable risks to be resolved where work happens.
Clearer Visibility and Control Across Tenants
Elements now provides a unified subscription report across all managed tenants, giving partners a single place to view total license counts. Licenses are grouped by type and can be exported into a multi‑sheet Excel report, making it easier to track usage, understand allocation, and manage subscriptions across environments.
This centralized view reduces manual reconciliation, improves visibility across tenants, and supports more informed licensing decisions as environments grow and change.
Stronger Workspace Lifecycle Management
Workspace Management now includes enhanced archiving capabilities to support more controlled content lifecycles. When creating archive profiles, administrators can apply storage optimization discovery conditions or define new conditions to identify workspace objects that should be archived or destroyed.
By archiving or removing outdated content, organizations help ensure that Copilot no longer uses obsolete data when generating results, improving the quality and relevance of Copilot outputs while also reducing content sprawl and keeping environments clean and governed.
More Precise Baseline and Configuration Management
Baseline Management continues to evolve with improvements designed to give partners greater precision and confidence when managing tenant configurations.
A new Policy Vault, accessible from the side navigation, centralizes drift detection and auto‑alignment settings across scope, rules, and dynamic placeholders. By bringing these controls into a single location, partners gain clearer oversight and more consistent governance across baselines.
Baseline creation is now more flexible. Instead of copying all configurations from a source tenant by default, administrators can select only the configurations they need. This results in cleaner baselines that more accurately reflect intended configurations and simplify ongoing management.
To further improve accuracy, baseline comparisons now uses similarity‑based matching to evaluate configurations. Rather than relying on exact matches, settings are compared based on configuration value similarity, helping reduce false deviations and provide clearer insight into tenant drift, particularly in scenarios where customers manage their own configurations while partners remain responsible for monitoring and identifying meaningful configuration changes.
Expanded App and Device Management Capabilities
Intune Management now supports additional application types, allowing administrators to manage a broader range of apps directly within Elements. This expanded coverage simplifies app governance and helps maintain consistency across managed environments.
For partners managing applications at scale, a new MSP‑level app management experience enables centralized app creation and management. App policies can be applied in bulk across tenants through a centralized App and Process Center, reducing operational overhead and making large‑scale app management easier to standardize.
Stronger, More Scalable Azure Security Management
Azure Security Management delivers enhancements aimed at improving consistency, visibility, and efficiency across tenants. Partners can now create Azure security policies once and manage them across multiple tenants. Rules can be grouped into a single policy, assigned to selected resources, and activated or updated centrally to ensure consistent security controls across environments.
Vulnerability Detection is also now included, helping identify software risks across Azure environments. Detected vulnerabilities are displayed with severity indicators and guided remediation options, making it easier to prioritize and address potential issues.
The Elements inventory has been enhanced with support for additional resource types, richer Azure details, and a refreshed layout across key views. Direct access to Azure audit logs improves investigation workflows, while the new Identity Analysis view surfaces role assignments, access paths, and risk insights to help identify potentially risky access.
In addition, Cloud Security Posture Management (CSPM) now uses a workload‑based licensing model. Partners can assign coverage by workload, manage enablement per resource, and clearly track usage across tenants, providing greater flexibility and transparency in security licensing.
A New Home for Product Knowledge: AvePoint Learn
This release also introduces AvePoint Learn, a new centralized knowledge base designed to make finding answers faster and easier. AvePoint Learn allows users to search across products and topics, request new articles, share feedback, and export content as PDFs — all from one place.
