AvePoint Confidence Platform December 2023 Updates

We just launched some important new updates to the AvePoint Confidence Platform! This release introduces new and improved functionality and features focused on security, insights, automation, and governance. Here’s a look at what’s new for December 2023:

AvePoint Cloud Backup

What’s New in Cloud Backup for Microsoft 365?

Cloud Backup now offers an optimized restore experience for objects with unusual activity or under potential ransomware attack with restore suggestions available to help guide users through the recovery process. A new hybrid backup mode is available to provide a more comprehensive backup solution for those that need to use both app profile and service accounts. Mailbox backup has been extended to allow for the backing up and restoration of mailbox recoverable items, so you can back up not only your primary mailbox, but also items such as the deletions, purges, and discovery hold subfolders. Plus, if you use the Bring Your Own Storage (BYOS) option, new intelligent tiering will optimize storage costs, and AvePoint hosted Amazon S3 Storage is now available as a default storage option.

What’s New in Cloud Backup for Salesforce?

New metadata monitoring alerts will now notify you of Salesforce metadata changes. Increased backup scope customizations will now allow you to create plans that more closely fit your specific needs and improve backup job performance. When creating a sandbox seeding template, additional filtering options are available to narrow the scope of objects added to seeding profiles and decrease the time it takes to spin up test environments. Plus, record IDs can now be imported in a CSV file to bulk add objects to their profiles, and API Usage Reports now display API usage in real-time and include both running and completed backup jobs.

What’s New in Cloud Backup for Google Workspace?

Improved GDPR Compliance Features: when responding to data subject access and data deletion requests, you can now delete data from multiple users at the same time. Plus, AvePoint hosted Amazon S3 Storage is now available as a default storage option in Cloud Backup for Google Workspace.

What’s New in Cloud Backup for IaaS + PaaS?

Account Management settings are now available to create security groups with custom permission scopes, ensuring that users within groups inherit group permissions automatically while enforcing role-based access with audit capabilities, regional operation delegation, and more granular control over restore functions.

Cloud Backup Account Management

AvePoint-hosted Amazon S3 storage is now available as an AvePoint default storage option for both Trial and Enterprise subscriptions. We’ve included Backup and export of Azure Sign-in Logs and Audit Logs allowing you to perform in-depth analysis, as well as improvements to our Microsoft Entra ID service, which now supports backup and restoration of extension attributes for users, groups, administrative units, applications, and devices. This provides more power and flexibility, ensuring all aspects of Entra ID entities are preserved during the data recovery processes. Plus, native Azure SQL backup monitoring and configuration is now available.

What’s New in AvePoint Cloud Governance?

Power Automate Renewals

Apply renewal profiles to Power Automate flows to ensure that the flow contacts, access, and metadata are kept up to date over the lifecycle of the flow. Escalation profiles are also available to help ensure that the users responsible for the flows complete their renewal tasks.

What’s New in AvePoint EnPower?

Enhanced Cloud Governance Integration

Power Automate cloud flows can now be managed with renewal profiles and contact election profiles created in Cloud Governance. Plus, workflow triggers can now be applied for Power Automate flows (in addition to Apps and Environments). The triggers will monitor renewal times, the phase of renewal, and changes in the metadata of that flow to support more complex workflows.

Power Platform Connection Dashboard

Monitor connection usage and status on the new Connection dashboard. The dashboard provides enhanced insights with a summary of key statistics categorized by tenant, container, parent environment, name, type, and status.

EnPower Dashboard

Power Platform DLP Analysis and Violations Report

Data Loss Prevention (DLP) policy impact analysis is now available for you to preview the impact on the resources in an environment before you apply a DLP policy. Once the DLP policies are set up, EnPower now offers a new automated notification system to notify App and Flow owners of violations.

Up to 100 items can now be displayed on each page of the records for review page, so you will now be able to see and action more items from a single page. Plus, the Waiting for Disposal page can now have all records selected across multiple pages.

What’s New in AvePoint Policies?

Create global-level and rule-level custom email templates for administrators and end users, and assign different email templates to different rules for more accurate (or company-specific) end-user guidance.

Policies Template

New rules now allow you to restrict sharing links with Edit permissions that are created by or shared with specific users, and you can immediately remove those links when they’re shared with everyone or anonymously or downgrade the links to “view” when they’re targeted at specific users. Plus, you can now set a target number of owners for each site.

What’s New in AvePoint Insights?

Enhanced Navigation for Key Data Insights

Admins can now configure if they want to highlight high-risk data that matches the sensitivity conditions set in Insights. This feature will allow admins to quickly eliminate false positives and decide whether further action is needed.

Insights Setting

Manual Site and File Owner Reporting

Insights now supports the ability to manually push permission reports to document or site owners directly from the Insights dashboard. This is a quick and easy way for security admins to request a review of potentially sensitive content without having to be subject matter experts themselves.

Detailed Record Enhancements and Simplified Summaries

Risk Analysis now offers built-in views for each workspace, displayed in tiles under All Views where you can configure filter conditions, save new views, and add views as favorites. Plus, the Risk Analysis Detailed Information pages allow you to view permissions, statistics, activities, and details on the individual record level to provide the tools needed to understand what is happening within each individual record. Plus, Insights now provides a new Web API to export detailed records.
