This spotlight features Stephanie Wagley, Mid-Market Sales Director, who is based out of our Chicago office. Read on to learn more about Stephanie’s AvePoint journey, advice to future new hires, and some fun non-work hobbies and interests around Chicago!

What’s your story at AvePoint? How have you progressed within your career here?

I started as an Account Executive in January 2018. After experiencing success as a sales rep, I spoke with my manager about my management passions and was promoted to Team Leader, Sales Manager, then Sales Director over the last few years!

What advice would you give to future new hires?

Be a sponge—soak up everything you learn during your onboarding sessions and don’t be afraid to reach out to others for any questions that you may have! It’s okay to not know everything and there is always someone who has the answers and is willing to help you.

What are your hopes for our industry?

We are in such an amazing industry that is constantly evolving and growing, so I hope to continue to see success for not only AvePoint, but the industry in general!

What do you like most about your job?

I love working with such a strong, driven team that is always willing to help each other succeed. Because I’m in Sales I have the pleasure of being able to work with plenty of different departments, and everyone is happy to help with whatever is needed!

What do you like to do outside of work?

I love to spend time with my husband and friends, read, and shop. Since being in quarantine, I love going for walks around my neighborhood and completing puzzles to take my mind off all the craziness. I can’t wait for things to open back up because I love to travel, too. My husband and I went to Hawaii last year and got to take a helicopter to explore one of the islands—it was amazing!

What is the weirdest job you’ve ever had?

I was a Party Coordinator for Pump It Up, the inflatable party zone for kids! I was in charge of ensuring kids were safe on the inflatable bounce houses, as well as coordinating birthday parties.

What is your favorite thing to do in your city?

Being in Chicago, I love going to all the different sporting events that we have to offer. Blackhawks, Cubs, Bears, White Sox – I’m not picky!
