Welcome to our latest installment of Employee Spotlight, where we catch up with a member of our AvePoint family and ask them a few questions about their history with the company, hobbies outside of work, and favorite aspects of where they live around the world.

Where were you working (or going to school) before AvePoint, and why did you come here?
Before joining AvePoint I earned three degrees in three different European Universities: Translation and Interpreting in Spain, B.A. Applied Modern Languages in the UK, and Economic and Language Studies in Germany. Right after finishing my studies I moved to Germany (I am originally from Spain) and started to work at an events agency as an intern and then as an Account Manager for a total of five years.
What is your favorite part of working for AvePoint?
I think my favorite part of working here is the multicultural teams. For example, on our EMEA Marketing team we have members of French, American, Irish, Swiss, German, and Spanish descent. We also have people of other nationalities in the regional offices as well as a great marketing team in China.
What’s the best part about living in Germany?
Definitely not the weather, but the working conditions are very good. You get motivated in your daily job, you get recognition from your peers, and in Munich you get to go to Oktoberfest every year!
When you’re not working, what is your favorite hobby?
I love to travel around the world! In my spare time I also love shopping, salsa dancing, meeting my friends for dinner, watching movies, and skiing. And whenever I can, I go back to Spain to enjoy my family, the weather, the sea, and the food.
If you could impart one fact about the AvePoint Germany office to the rest of AvePoint, what would it be?
The atmosphere at the office is great. When new members join the team, they get along with everyone quickly during the first days. You definitely get a warm welcome and everyone makes you feel part of the AvePoint family.
Of our five core values – passion, drive for excellence, teamwork, innovation, and industry leader – which one do you identify with most and why?
Passion and teamwork. I think passion is needed for all other values as they barely exist without passion and motivation for your job. Teamwork is, of course, a must as it helps us to learn from others and to teach them what we are good at so that the company gets the best out of everyone.
What is the best piece of advice you’ve ever been given?
For every minute you are angry, you lose sixty seconds of happiness. Be happy! Life is too short to be mad, sad, or anything else that does not involve a smile.
If you could give one piece of advice to new AvePoint employees, what would it be?
Do not assume anything, always double check. Don’t take things for granted as it might be too late when you realize that someone misunderstood you.
