We encourage you to reach out and donate to any of the great charities we partnered with this year:
2018 is flying by, and Thanksgiving has come and gone! Here at AvePoint, though, the spirit of the season is just picking up. We’ve come a long way since we introduced AvePoint Philanthropy in the spring of 2017. Over the course of this year we’ve had the opportunity to work with some truly incredible organizations.
Our mission with AvePoint Philanthropy is to positively impact humanity and drive change through technology, community, and education. We’re very proud of this worldwide initiative to give back to those who need it most!
Throughout this year we had a blast supporting the charity Girls Who Code, one that personally hits home for many of us.
Girls Who Code aims to close the gender gap in the IT industry. They support afterschool programs for girls between 6th and 12th grade to learn about coding and work on coding projects, all the while bonding with other avid female coders.
We also had an opportunity to support the Make-A-Wish Foundation. Wish kids are some of the bravest and sweetest kids you’ll ever know. They wish to work in a pickle factory, become a superhero, go snorkeling, give their baseball team new uniforms, and push all the buttons in a tall building’s elevator. Their innocence and wisdom stays with you.
Our regional offices have also contributed time and effort to inspiring local acts of giving in a more hands-on capacity:
The Richmond office had a fun and humbling experience prepping meals at Feed More just in time for Thanksgiving! Feed More helps feed Central Virginia by providing more than 52,000 meals every day. Thanks to everyone who came out and helped support Feed More’s inspiring mission!
Our Richmond office participated in our fall community outreach event last week with Church Hill Activities & Tutoring (CHAT)! CHAT is an awesome organization that serves the youth of East End Richmond and equips them with the heart, head, and hands to make transformative life decisions. We spent our time pulling weeds and laying mulch to ensure the CHAT playground is up to code for the many kids who use it.
The Richmond office also participated in our spring community outreach event at Carver Elementary School (part of the Richmond Public Schools district). Our gracious volunteers helped attend stations at Carver’s annual Field Day. This was such a fun opportunity for our employees to take part in, and we can’t wait for next year’s Field Day!
Meanwhile, in our Jersey City office, we are continuing our partnership with Jersey Cares, a nonprofit organization that recruits and engages volunteers in rewarding, effective efforts that address community-identified needs.
There are millions of children in need of joy and cheer all over the world, and so many of them are here in our own backyard. Each year, Jersey Cares receives more than 3,000 letters to Frosty through their holiday giving program “Frosty’s Friends” from children who may not normally receive any gifts during the holidays. We’ll be writing letters, wrapping gifts, and spreading the holiday cheer again this year!
AvePoint is proud to continue matches through AvePoint Philanthropy, and we encourage everyone to look within their organizations, many of which also have amplified matching on #GivingTuesday! We look forward to our continued expansion of this program and even more incredible things coming next year!
