Want to earn your status as a Collaboration Ambassador to be spotlighted and gain other special privileges? Read this post to find out how!
1. How long have you worked with collaboration technology and where did you get your start?
After serving the Dutch National Archives for ten years in the 1990s, I joined consultancies as a document management specialist in 2000. It was not before 2007/2008 that I got some firsthand experience with Microsoft SharePoint (MOSS 2007) as a project manager in a records management project at the Dutch Forestry Commission (Staatsbosbeheer). I have been a self-employed consultant for (mostly) SharePoint compliance and governance issues for ten years now.
2. What do you like best about the collaboration technology community?
I appreciate the sharing of knowledge, insights, as well as experiences on the best ways to make technology work for organizations and enterprises.
3. What are some of the key challenges your organization has overcome when it comes to collaboration?
From my experience as a self-employed consultant, I see a lot of organizations struggling with adoption issues and making collaboration tooling work for the end user.
4. What is the best advice you’ve received in your career thus far?
I am not sure if anybody ever told me this…. but look ahead, do not hesitate, and think for yourself!
5. What is one fun fact about yourself that you’d like to share with the other members of the AvePoint Community?
I studied History and ended up in the collaboration business. 😉
