- “Integrating SharePoint with Microsoft Dynamics CRM” by Technical Solutions Professional and Dynamics CRM MVP Fabrice Di Giulio at 3.15 p.m. on Thursday, November 12
We got in touch with Di Giulio and Williams to ask them a few questions about their sessions and their expectations around ESPC 2015.
What is your European SharePoint Conference 2015 presentation about?
Fabrice Di Giulio (FDG): My presentation is about integrating SharePoint, Dynamics CRM, and Yammer in Office 365.
Randy Williams (RW): My presentation will discuss transitioning full-trust code to the add-in/app model that is part of Office 365, SharePoint 2013, and SharePoint 2016.
Why did you choose this particular topic for the event?
FDG: I am a Dynamics CRM MVP and I really like the integration possibilities offered by Office 365 products. I want to share my vision on extending collaboration beyond SharePoint.
RW: Many organizations are quickly moving to Office 365, where full trust code model is not supported. This means that customizations (such as branding, custom site provisioning, and custom navigation) will not function in Office 365. My session will cover common scenarios and provide examples on how this code can be transitioned to the add-in model. As part of this, we’ll review the expansive patterns and practices code sample library that can help you quickly jump start your transition to Office 365 development.
What is one key takeaway you want attendees to walk away with after the presentation?
FDG: I want attendees to understand that everything is already there to help with the integration of the different Office 365 products and that it is not rocket science. Apart from that, I want people to understand the benefits of business apps based on Office 365.
RW: It’s too hard pick just one, so I’m going to pick two. The first is to make sure Microsoft’s vision and roadmap for SharePoint and Office 365 development is crystal clear. The second is to make sure all attendees know about the patterns and practice site to create strong habits going forward and reduce the effort in transitioning their code.
Aside from your presentation, what is one thing you’re looking forward to most about European SharePoint Conference 2015?
FDG: I am looking forward to meeting people in person with whom I’ve only talked via email in the past.
RW: I look forward to catching up with the community. This will be my third time speaking at ESPC, and each event is a great way to meet others and discuss their highlights and lowlights using SharePoint.
