AvePoint at the IAPP Europe Data Protection Congress 2012

From November 13-15, AvePoint will be at the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP) Europe Data Protection Congress 2012 in Brussels, Belgium. The event brings together data protection thought leaders from across the continent for three days dedicated to in-depth discussion and education on vital issues throughout the industry, including data protection regulation, mobile privacy, regulatory harmonization, big data, and profiling. Our experts will be on hand at Booth 6 to showcase how AvePoint’s award-winning compliance product line ensures information is available to the people who should have it and protected from the people who should not.

Organizations now face increasing pressures to do more with less as well as empower employees, associates, and customers with the latest technologies. Companies require increasingly larger market data sets and deeper granularity to feed predictive models, forecasts, and trading throughout the day. At the same time, new regulatory and compliance requirements are placing greater emphasis on governance and risk reporting, driving the need for deeper and more transparent analyses across global organizations. Enterprise collaboration systems, social media, mobile devices, and cloud solutions can help promote innovation, free thinking, and creativity, but they also drastically increase content and create a new set of compliance challenges. Implementing and enforcing compliance initiatives not only affect an organization’s compliance personnel, it also affects IT and all business users, requiring significant attention from the organization as a whole. Major concerns include:

· How do we ensure that data collected from consumers or citizens is done so appropriately and in compliance with data protection, data collection, and data transfer requirements
· How do we prevent exposure within and outside of the enterprise?
· How do we detect problems and understand how our content is being used?
· How do we respond, resolve and report on compliance issues using a common, universal language?

For more than a decade, AvePoint has offered tools to help organizations bring their social enterprise collaboration platform deployments into compliance and mitigate risk. For an overview of our history with compliance, read Vice President of Product Marketing Mary Leigh Mackie’s recent blog post. As regulatory and business technology landscapes change, our products have evolved in order to keep up with new regulations and help organizations continue to implement and maintain robust risk management systems. For example, our newest offering, Compliance Guardian, helps organizations proactively protect their enterprise technology environments from harmful information leaks, contamination, or misuse while simultaneously ensuring all activities and content residing in their environments are compliant, accessible, and manageable.

If you’re in Belgium next week, we hope to see you at the event. To learn more about our compliance offerings and how they can benefit your organization, please visit our website.
