Key Advantages of DocAve Replicator for SharePoint 2010

Enable Effective, Real-Time Collaboration Across Geographically Distributed Locations

SharePoint replication can be performed in real-time over limited bandwidth, ensuring even disconnected users have 24/7 access to the most up-to-date business critical information.

Automate Site and Content Publication for Enhanced Content Lifecycle Management

With the ability to perform one-way or two-way content replications based on customizable event triggers and content selection rules, DocAve Replicator helps organizations simplify and automate content publication tasks within or across farms. For instance, administrators can maintain consistency across multiple department calendars within a single farm by publishing relevant content with one-way replication, or utilize two-way replication to synchronize entire sites or libraries for more complex scenarios.

Keep Offices in Sync with Conflict-free Synchronization of Content, Configurations, Security, and User Settings

Using two-way replication, users are assured that they are accessing and editing the same version of an item across multiple SharePoint environments. You can also selectively manage configurations, content, and securities from a single location to multiple destinations, either granularly or in bulk.

Control Bandwidth and Network Traffic

DocAve Replicator gives you numerous options to control performance and network traffic, empowering you to manage SharePoint replication even over slow connections. These include:

  • Full content or byte-level replication
  • Flexible scheduling
  • Data compression
  • Advanced network control settings

Perform Off-Line Replications Between Locations

Store replication data on a local or network drive for off-line replication. This allows you to physically move data from one location to another when network connections do not exist.

DocAve Replicator for SharePoint 2010 Technical Overview

DocAve Replicator allows Microsoft SharePoint administrators to replicate content, configurations, securities, and users from one SharePoint location to another, within the same farm and across farms. Replication can be “live” (event-triggered) or on a set schedule so that content, configurations, securities, and users can be synchronized between sites and objects. Live replication triggers are fully customizable, and replication can executed as full or incremental. Incremental replication can be at the file or byte levels. DocAve Replicator provides you with a full range of enterprise-class replication options and features.

Features of DocAve Replicator Include:

  • Graphical, Windows Explorer-like ‘drag-and-drop’ mapping enables fast and intuitive replication mapping
  • Customizable, real-time replication based on event triggers
  • Template-based replication to create reusable replication plans to standardize replication process across your Microsoft SharePoint environment
  • Select the replication source at any level – entire web application down to a single version of an item.
  • Replicate content, configurations, securities, users, or any combination of these – granularly or in bulk.
  • Replicate the selected source to multiple destinations and setup separate synchronization schedules for each destination.
  • Optional extranet replication to minimize security risk associated with opening additional ports in corporate firewalls
  • Replication can be one-way, two-way, and supports multiple destinations.
  • Overwrite and skip options available for configuration or security replication.
  • Overwrite, skip, and merge options are available for content replication.
  • Resolve replication conflicts based on a customizable set of rules, including data location, modified time, and version number. Conflicting parties are notified of the issue with recommended resolutions.
  • Byte-level replication option to replicate file deltas enables low-bandwidth replication (Requires a cache area on both sides).
  • Optional replication of object deletions between locations.
  • Optional compression and throttle-control enables control over bandwidth usage throughout the day.
