Over the past five years, AvePoint’s Employee Resource Group (ERG) Women in Technology has grown from one individual’s idea to a global community that’s committed to making positive change for women.

As we celebrate International Women’s Day today, our focus is on identifying the purpose, increasing awareness of, and invigorating passion in the Women in Technology (WIT) ERG for AvePoint colleagues.

The 2023 theme for International Women’s Day is #EmbraceEquity, and at AvePoint we are committed to creating a more inclusive workforce—one that prioritizes equal outcomes for people of all genders, not just equal representation. That’s why highlighting WIT and encouraging even more involvement is so important to us.

Our Mission:

Women in Technology is dedicated to attracting, advancing and celebrating women. Our goal is to empower women to thrive in their personal and professional lives and give them support from our community.

This year, the Women in Technology ERG has three main objectives as we commit to the #EmbraceEquity theme:

  1. Advance Women’s Careers: We will continue to support the personal and professional development of women at AvePoint by providing learning and development opportunities and career coaching. For example, AvePoint offers LinkedIn Learning subscriptions on topics like how to manage and embrace DE&I, and we have hosted workshops with expert consultants to support career development.
  2. Develop an Inspiring Culture: We will further conversations around gender equity and the importance of DE&I at AvePoint, increase mentorship opportunities and continue to invite guest speakers to engage our colleagues. For example, our Board Member Janet Schijns will speak to WIT members today on her path to leadership, obstacles she’s overcome and why she values networking among women.
  3. Empower our Communities: We will continue to support philanthropies that focus on issues and opportunities affecting women. For example, AvePoint is a Corporate Sponsor of Girls Who Code as part of our mission to encourage girls in STEM and close the skills gap in the technology industry.
