As 2012 comes to a close, we at AvePoint are already gearing up for one of the most exciting shows of the New Year: European SharePoint Conference 2013. Taking place from February 4-7 in Copenhagen, Denmark, European SharePoint Conference features sessions presented by both Microsoft and industry experts. As you might expect, this year’s event is all about SharePoint 2013, and most sessions focus on the latest version of the platform. In all, the event boasts more than 110 SharePoint sessions, keynotes, hands on labs, Europe’s largest SharePoint-focused expo, parties, and much more.

On Monday, February 4, Chief Architect and SharePoint MVP Jeremy Thake and Enterprise Trainer and Evangelist Randy Williams will conduct a pre-conference tutorial entitled “Understanding, Applying and Enforcing SharePoint Governance”. The full-day workshop will teach attendees all about end-to-end SharePoint governance, including topics such as:

At 2:00pm on Tuesday, February 5, Randy Williams presents a session entitled “SharePoint 2013: Application Fundamentals”. The session will offer a demo-centric introduction to what’s new and improved when it comes to building applications in the latest release of SharePoint. The session will cover:
· How external apps integrate with SharePoint
· Different hosting options for apps
· New client APIs and authentication mechanisms
· Changes in deployment packaging options
At 3:15pm on Wednesday, February 6, Director of Systems Engineering Abi Onifade presents a session entitled “Microsoft Office 365, Windows Azure, or On Prem? Have SharePoint Your Way”. This presentation will provide a blueprint for successfully navigating which deployment option is best suited to house an organization’s SharePoint infrastructure based on governance and compliance considerations – whether in the cloud, hybrid, or on premises.
At 10:15am on Thursday, February 7, Jeremy Thake conducts a session entitled “Getting Started with Microsoft Office 365 SharePoint 2013 Online Development”. The session will provide a primer on how to properly begin SharePoint 2013 Online development and will discuss different approaches to customizing SharePoint sites as well as developer skill sets required for success.
Finally, at 10:15am on Thursday, February 7, Abi Onifade will present a session entitled “Successful Migration to SharePoint 2013 – Planning Considerations & Migration Strategies”. This session will share the recommended migration approaches and key pitfalls to avoid in order to effectively migrate content onto SharePoint 2013 and Office 365 SharePoint Online environments. Attendees will learn how to map existing content from prior releases of SharePoint or disparate data repositories – such as Lotus Notes, Microsoft Exchange Public Folders, and Documentum eRoom – into desired SharePoint 2013 on-premises or Office 365 SharePoint Online environments.
