While AvePoint has pre-built several checks into Compliance Guardian, we acknowledge that every environment, goal, and need are different. This is why we have developed our solution to allow any user to create their own custom check.
To do this, we start off in the control panel and then move into the ‘Check Manager’. In this pane, you will see a list of your existing checks. To start your creation of a new check, click the ‘Create’ button. This will take you to the first step.
Here you will find the option for the type of information that you want your check to find, such as Text/Keywords, Standard Forms, and Website Settings. You will also find a list of useable templates.
For example, if the created check is to find a specific word or name in any document across a whole environment, you would want to choose the ‘Text or Keywords’ option with the ‘FindText’ template.
You will then be taken to a display with a text box to enter your specific word(s), then select if you would like that word to return as a passed or failed test. The next step in the process is specifying how you would like Compliance Guardian to notify you when the file has passed and when the file has failed.
The final features that are included in Compliance Guardian are the scales in which the user decides their speed, confidence, and severity levels for the text entered.
Finally name your check and add a description as desired, click ‘OK’ and you are ready to run your customized check.
