Empowering Our Team Members

​I was very proud to hear that Inc. Magazine recently named AvePoint to the Inc. 500|5000 List of Fastest Growing Companies for the 3rd Consecutive Year! While reading the accompanying press release , I came across a statement given by Dr. Tianyi (TJ) Jiang, AvePoint’s Co-CEO, in response to the prestigious recognition, “When we founded AvePoint, our goal was to deliver the best products and services in the industry by listening to our customers and empowering our team members, so everyone would be invested in our success.”

What particularly stood out to me within that was this phrase: “… empowering our team members so everyone would be invested in our success.” (Emphasis added.) I immediately began to think about the relationship among empowerment, team members, and investment, and how they ultimately drive business and define our culture. How do we, as a company, empower our employees to perform at their best while promoting teamwork and investing in their success? From my perspective as an HR representative, we do our best to empower employees from their first day of New Hire training. We recognize that it is crucial for team members to know how their role contributes to the overall success of the organization. As such, we take great care to share our organization’s vision and strategic plans while creating opportunities for employees to give and receive feedback – essentially, to feel a part of the bigger picture. Another concept I particularly value as an AvePoint employee is the emphasis we place on teamwork and collaboration. As a global company, we promote teamwork as a means to encourage creativity and innovation. AvePoint employees are fortunate to have the opportunity to work within cross functional teams comprised of various departments with diverse expertise. Teamwork provides an unparalleled outlet for learning, which increases job satisfaction, improves product quality, and elevates awareness and alignment for the organization. Lastly, AvePoint takes to heart the maxim that no business is better than its employees – we make every effort to invest in their success. In addition to our internal training and education department, we encourage employees to seek external training and education to expand upon their skills. We also recognize and reward those that make significant and effective work contributions by building a culture of recognition that is constantly displayed across various communication outlets throughout our global organization. With such a strong developmental strategy, it comes as no surprise that AvePoint remains among the fastest growing companies in the nation. Inc. Editor Eric Schurenberg said it best, “Now, more than ever, we depend on Inc. 500|5000 companies to spur innovation, provide jobs, and drive the economy forward. Growth companies, not large corporations, are where the action is.” I personally could not be more excited for the journey ahead!
