The new release of AvePoint’s SharePoint file sync and share solution features full support for SharePoint 2016. Mobile Editing Support for Microsoft Office Documents: With this release, AvePoint Perimeter’s applications for iPad and Android tablets support document editing – allowing end users to edit shared documents using their mobile devices with Office Web Apps in the same way they would within their desktop Internet browser.
Password Policy Management for External Users: AvePoint Perimeter administrators now have the ability to define and mandate password requirements for external end users accessing the external portal, enhancing security by ensuring that users employ strong passwords.
External Sharing Control Based on Users and Groups: IT administrators can now create and manage rules to restrict external sharing options for users within the company. Restrictions can be set for users, Active Directory (AD) groups, or SharePoint groups, and determine what permissions a user can grant when externally collaborating. This allows administrators to granularly control sharing for users, departments, or groups in order to keep confidential documents better protected.
External Sharing Control Based on Metadata: AvePoint Perimeter now supports control of external sharing based on document properties – including file name and type. IT administrators can create rules that enable or disable external sharing globally for all Perimeter-enabled libraries. This allows organizations to prevent inappropriate or accidental sharing of sensitive information within the organization’s SharePoint environment.
