Q: Will Replicator remove content from the destination if the filtered element is changed on the source? For example, a filter is applied to the replication job to only include files with their name starting with ‘S’. A file, ‘standards.doc’, is renamed to ‘requirements.doc’. Since this no longer meets the replication criterea, will replicator remove it from the destination?
A: Since the item no longer meets the filter requirements, the item will no longer be replicated in the future. However, because the file already now exists in the destination, it will not be automatically removed. The filter only ever applies during source backup (i.e., before the destination restore).
