Meet Our MVPs: Dux Raymond Sy

Over the past two weeks, we’ve put a spotlight on our Microsoft Most Valuable Professionals (MVPs) on staff – beginning with AvePoint Technical Solutions Professional and Dynamics CRM MVP Fabrice Di Giulio and AvePoint Client Services Strategic Consultant and SharePoint MVP Paul Olenick. This week we conclude our series with AvePoint Public Sector Chief Technology Officer and SharePoint MVP Dux Raymond Sy.

An MVP since 2011, Sy is responsible for leading the development and delivery of strategic customer solutions for AvePoint that drive positive business transformation and enable organizations to achieve their overall mission. We sat down to ask him a few questions about his role as an MVP and how it impacts his work he does at AvePoint.

What does it mean to you to be a Microsoft MVP?

Dux Raymond Sy: It’s a great acknowledgement from Microsoft that my community contributions are being recognized and appreciated.

What do you like best about being an MVP?

DRS: First of all, I love being a part of a global community of Microsoft experts who are passionate not only about technology but are also outstanding community leaders. Additionally, it provides me with a great opportunity to be directly engaged with Microsoft teams to gain insights into organizational plans and future product roadmaps.

How does your status as an MVP factor into the work you do at AvePoint?

DRS: Being an MVP and having a direct line to a community of technology experts and members of the Microsoft team has some great benefits that I’m ultimately able to pass down to our customers. It allows me to continually provide helpful and relevant feedback and insights to our customers on how to best maximize their Microsoft technology investments.

What is one suggestion you have for anyone looking to become an MVP in the future?

DRS: Step up and get involved with the greater Microsoft community. Your goal should not just be the MVP status, but to really become a community leader through your ability to share your technical expertise in many different ways – such as through online content, user group events, and even direct mentorship.

What are you looking forward to most from Microsoft in 2015?

DRS: I’m very excited about the continued growth and adoption of Microsoft’s cloud and mobile technologies, including Office 365 and Office Delve. I’m also excited for all that’s going to happen during and around the Microsoft Ignite event this May in Chicago, IL. I look forward to seeing everyone there!
