The AvePoint RedBus came to life with the purpose of bringing Microsoft MVPs to the Microsoft community, reaching those who otherwise wouldn’t have access to the knowledge, expertise, and networking of events like SharePoint Saturdays. The RedBus’ maiden voyage was October 2016, and we are giving back to the community again this year in South Africa. From Johannesburg to Cape Town, the RedBus full of MVPs and cloud experts will make 3 stops along the way to present the latest and greatest around Office 365, SharePoint, and Azure.
The Microsoft community is important to AvePoint, and we want to give all community members the opportunity to attend a SharePoint Saturday. So, we bring the Microsoft MVPs and international speakers to you.
The #RedBus is coming your way! Check out where we will be next.

Taxonomy in a hybrid SharePoint and Office 365 world
With many organisations still using on-premises SharePoint environments, most companies are at least testing the water with cloud and/or hybrid solutions with Office 365. Traditional taxonomy on premises relates to file-plan and organisational structures and hierarchies. Office 365 brings a different approach to collaboration with flat structures brought to the fore by Office 365 Groups and most recently traction around Microsoft Teams. Widespread often reckless adoption of these Office 365 components follows more of a Folksonomy approach than that of a taxonomy and often the mapping between the two get blurred. In this session Johan will cover the more traditional taxonomy structures in SharePoint for on Premise and online implementations along with guidance around hybrid deployments and cloud only requirements.
Blockchain - Why the hype?
Everyone know about Bitcoin, but few people know about its underpinning technology – blockchain. What is it? Is it safe? Is everything visible to everyone? This session will cover blockchain as a bleeding edge technology, what we could do with it and what Microsoft is doing in this space in Azure. We will look at use cases and high level architecture along with ways Microsoft is making developing blockchain solutions easier.

Getting to Grips with Office 365 Groups
Office 365 Groups is a service that connects Microsoft’s function specific applications to each other so that organisations are able to connect people across the collection of resources. Groups form the proverbial glue behind the scenes that provide information created for the group, across the applications that site on top of the group. In this session we cover:
Understanding Groups is critical to the success of using the application resources provided within Office 365 effectively as everything starts with a group. Both Office 365 users and administrator will be able to successfully deploy, manage and protect solutions built on top of Office 365 groups.

The impact of digital literacy on Office 365 user adoption
In this age of digital disruption we should take a step back and have the digital literacy discussion. The elephant in the room, so to speak. We might have to change our thought process around training and empowering people. This session covers:
Equipped with the insights listed above, consultants, change management professionals, and managers will have the necessary information to ensure that the move to the cloud fosters productivity enrichment, growth and that acceptable user adoption is achievable.
