AvePoint Reveals Comprehensive Groups Interface for Office 365 at Microsoft Ignite 2017
AvePoint GroupHub adds another layer to the Office 365 Groups experience and offers administrative controls for the enterprise.
Orlando, Florida — September 25, 2017 — AvePoint, the Microsoft Cloud expert, today will reveal GroupHub, its new, simple interface that complements Office 365 Groups. The reveal will take place during the Microsoft Ignite conference being held until September 29 at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Florida. GroupHub makes it easy to access all Office 365 Groups and services from a single view. Throughout Ignite, attendees can visit the AvePoint booth (#301) to receive a demo of GroupHub.
About AvePoint GroupHub
AvePoint designed GroupHub as a central point of access for all Office 365 Groups and group collaborative tools in Office 365 such as related files, conversations, calendars, SharePoint sites, Planner boards, and notebooks. Two clicks give the user access to Group functionality without having to leave the GroupHub application, which can be added to and accessed from the Office 365 App Launcher. In addition to accessing these resources, users can review and modify group memberships or create new groups from within the application. GroupHub has a responsive web design that enables accessibility from any device on any platform.
GroupHub includes three features that help users organize their Office 365 Groups – tags, filters, and hubs. Users can tag groups with meaningful labels so they can find them later, while built-in filters help the user find groups they own or are members of. The “hub” feature allows users to save curated lists of groups for easy future access.
GroupHub also integrates with AvePoint Governance Automation Online (GAOL). For organizations using GAOL, integration with GroupHub provides an alternate provisioning mechanism for Office 365 Groups, and allows administrators to create a more governed approach with controls such as approval processes, lifecycle and inactivity tracking, flexible naming conventions, and additional metadata for tracking groups after creation. For those who prefer the native Office 365 management controls, GroupHub offers a simple user interface for configuring what are otherwise PowerShell-only Office 365 Group settings.
“GroupHub is intended for organizations that are seeing great adoption of Office 365 Groups and now need more advanced tools for both admins and end users to access, navigate, and manage them. Business users can focus on being productive rather than hunting for their groups, and admins can implement just the right level of control and management based on their organizational needs. We’re excited about how GroupHub will support sustainable Office 365 Groups adoption,” said John Peluso, Senior Vice President of Product Strategy at AvePoint.
