AvePoint’s DocAve SharePoint Migrator Supports SharePoint 2003 to SharePoint 2010 Migrations

DocAve SharePoint Migrator automates the transition from SharePoint 2003 to SharePoint 2010

Jersey City, NJ — March 17, 2010 — AvePoint, the leading provider of infrastructure management software solutions for Microsoft SharePoint, today announced that its DocAve SharePoint Migrator, a tool enabling the seamless transfer of legacy content into Microsoft SharePoint Products and Technologies, now provides beta support for SharePoint 2010. DocAve SharePoint Migrator is one of 24 tools available within the recently released DocAve Software Platform v5.4, and provides for the efficient, fully mapped transfer of content directly from SharePoint 2003 (SPS 2003 and WSSv2) to SharePoint 2010.

"SharePoint 2010 is really a game changer when it comes to information management platforms”, said Dr. Tianyi (TJ) Jiang, AvePoint’s Chief Operating Officer.  “As more organizations look to move to SharePoint 2010 for vital business initiatives, it is absolutely necessary that they have a comprehensive migration tool to make the transition complete, secure, and non-disruptive to business.   This is the case when it comes to moving from previous versions of SharePoint as well.  Microsoft has announced that it will not provide any upgrade tools from SharePoint 2003 to 2010, and will only provide an in-place upgrade tool for transitioning from 2007 to 2010.  So at AvePoint, our objective was to make sure our Migrator provided not only support for direct 2003 to 2010 upgrades, but also provided the flexible mapping, scheduling, and reporting functionality required to ensure both a comprehensive migration, and a well-architected SharePoint 2010 environment.”

DocAve SharePoint Migrator is the industry’s most feature rich and flexible solution for the automated transfer of SharePoint 2001, 2003, and 2007 content to SharePoint 2007 and 2010 environments.   DocAve provides the following feature set:

DocAve Migrator Streamlines Data Transfer from a Variety of Legacy Sources

DocAve Migrator enables the lossless, comprehensive, fully mapped migration of content to SharePoint 2007 and 2010 from a variety of legacy data sources, including EMC Documentum/eRoom, Lotus Notes, Oracle/Stellent, Public Folders, OpenText Livelink, File System, HTTP/HTTPS-accessible websites, as well as from previous versions of SharePoint.  Additionally, DocAve Migrator now supports the full fidelity migration of Lotus Notes Mail data into Microsoft Exchange.
