DocAve 5.6.0.3003 is a unique version that provide users the capability of migrating permissions from SharePoint to Office 365. However, there are certain situations where user definition are changed in the target. For example, users in the SharePoint source are defined as DomainA\User1, but in Office 365, they are defined as User1@Domain.net. This is because AD are structured differently in Cloud. There is a workaround to migrate these users by leveraging DocAve’s User Mapping feature.

Navigate to DocAve > Administration > Content Manager > Settings > Mapping Setup. Select User Mapping Replace Settings and enter source user. For example, enter DomainA\User1 and provide the Destination User as: User1@Domain.net. When this mapping is properly set up, DocAve can then find these users in Office 365 and can assign permissions automatically. Please refer to the following Microsoft video for more information about Active Directory in Cloud: http://channel9.msdn.com/Events/TechEd/NorthAmerica/2011/SIM320
