Details:

An error occurs when a site containing a Content Library is saved as a template.

SYMPTOMS:

When a site is saved as a template and it contains a Content Library, an error will appear and the template that is saved will not be correct.

CAUSE:

Reports in AveReportFolder cause the issue.

SOLUTION:

  1. Navigate to Content Library (or Media Library).
  2. Click Library > Open with Explorer.
  3. In Explorer, navigate to Forms > AveReportFolder and delete all report files in this folder.
  4. Perform steps 1 to 3 for each Content Library (or Media Library) in this site.
  5. If there was a previous attempt to save the site as a template, go to the Site Collection that contains this site. Navigate to Site Actions > Site Settings > Solutions, and delete the site template that was saved earlier.
  6. Save the site as a template again.
  7. If this does not work (as the files may reappear), use the SharePoint Manager 2010 tool: http://spm.codeplex.com/. This tool will fully delete the files.
