Details:

After installing DocAve, the default login URL will be in this format: https://YourInstalledComputerName:14000. In order to change the default URL to a custom one (For example, https://docave.media.com), follow these steps:

 

  1. Locate and access the DNS Control machine in your environment. If you do not know which machine is your DNS Control, open a Command Prompt in a domain PC and enter Ping [domain_name] (For example, Ping.media.com) and the DNS Control IP Address.
  2. Access the DNS Controller in the Control Machine by going to the DNS Manager under the Administrative Tools.
  3. In the DNS Controller, add A Host to the domain and provide the information for your environment. In this example the custom URL being used for DocAve is https://docave.media.com.  Add A Host 1.jpg Add A Host 2.jpg**note: In the example images "10.2.49.53" would be the DocAve Manager IP address**
  4. Go to the machine where your DocAve Manager is installed.
  5. Open the DocAve Manager Configuration Tool, by going to the Start Menu -> AvePoint DocAve 6 -> DocAve 6 Manager Tools -> Manager Configuration Tool.
  6. Change the following ports to 443:
    1. In the Control Service Configuration change the Web Site Port. 
    2. In the Media Service Configuration change the Control Service Port.
    3. In the  Report Service Configuration change the Control Service Port.
  7. Go to your DocAve Agent Configuration Tool and change the Control Service Port to 443.
  8. Repeat step 7 for ALL of your DocAve Agents. 

You should now be able to login to DocAve using the new URL, in this example “https://docave.media.com”.
