Details:
Backup job fails due to snapshot being deleted, and the following error appears:
The shadow copies of volume D: were deleted because the shadow copy storage could not grow in time. Consider reducing the IO load on the system or choose a shadow copy storage volume that is not being shadow copied.
Cause:
This may be due to there not being enough space in the device, or the disk I/O is too high.
Solution:
Increase the maximum size in the shadow copy disk settings, or configure the disk to create snapshots on another disk as follows:
- Click Start, and then click Computer.
- Right-click any of the volumes listed, and then click Configure Shadow Copies. If the User Account Control dialog box appears, confirm that the action it displays is what you want, and then click Continue.
- Click the volume for which the shadow copy failed, and then click Settings.
- Set the Diff Area to a volume on a different disk by selecting the volume from the drop-down list under Storage area, and then click OK.
