Details:
The Audit and Search Services are only referencing the production farm and not the DR farm as well.
SYMPTOMS:
The Audit and Search Services are only referencing the production farm and not the DR farm as well.
CAUSE:
This is a visual issue and not a functional one. This error occured on DocAve 5.7.0.0, and the user performed a full SharePoint and DocAve failover using HA module and native SQL mirroring, respectively. The user noticed, upon failover of the Manager Services, that the DocAve Audit and Search Services within the DR were referencing only the production farm.
The issue is that when using native SQL mirroring, the mirrored DocAve databases contain the product farm’s information as well as the destination DR farm. Therefore, there should be two Manager services listed for each Service: one with the Production Manager’s hostname/IP and the second with the DR Manager’s hostname/IP address. In this particular case, there were 2 DR DocAve Manager Services (Audit and Search), which only had one (1) Manager service hostname (the Production Manager).
SOLUTION:
The resolution for this is to first delete the services from the Manager Monitor and then refresh the page. Should the Audit and Search Services still not have any services point to the DR Manager, then proceed to restart the DR Manager services, and this will resolve the issue.
