Private Channels is a new Microsoft Teams functionality that will boost adoption and collaboration of Microsoft Teams for end users but may seem confusing to organizations at first. Proper implementation and administration can significantly improve the way organization approach Teams structure!

The default settings for private channels will enable any user within a Team to create a private channel, which brings with it its own SharePoint Site Collection.
