Microsoft Partner of the Year Awards Highlight AvePoint’s Continued Evolution #WPC14

For the last two and a half years, AvePoint has been undergoing a tremendous evolution. Starting out by specifically catering to the SharePoint infrastructure management market in 2001, AvePoint has made significant investments into other important areas of enterprise collaboration, including compliance, data governance, online services, mobility and productivity.

While re-educating a market about what we do and how we are evolving is always an arduous task, our recent recognition from Microsoft as the winner of the 2014 Microsoft Partner of the Year Award for Public Sector: Public Safety & National Security is a testament to our comprehensive data management story across the collaboration landscape, marrying our traditional strengths in SharePoint infrastructure management with our solutions for compliance, data governance, online services, mobility, and productivity across Microsoft products and technologies – not just SharePoint and SQL Server, but now also major Microsoft focus areas such as Office 365, Azure, Dynamics CRM, and Windows 8.

This Microsoft global partner of the year award win is the first in our company’s history, and speaks to our work differentiating ourselves in an extremely crowded, competitive Microsoft partner ecosystem. What was especially compelling to Microsoft in assessing our submission was our extensive work with public sector agencies worldwide. As customers’ demand for solutions in Dynamics CRM, Office 365, and Azure continue to rise, our investment in building solutions and offering services for these technologies creates a tremendous value add for the enterprise collaboration and information management market space.

Not only were we a winner in the Public Safety & National Security category, AvePoint was also named a finalist for the second consecutive year in the Office & SharePoint App Developer Partner of the Year Award category. Our dedication to supporting Microsoft’s key initiatives, such as app development in the Office and SharePoint stores, has been vital to reinforcing our willingness to change and innovate with Microsoft with the end goal of better servicing our customers.

One last major growth area that is of extreme interest to Microsoft and helping us gain continued traction is our AvePoint Online Services offering. In less than one year with a soft launch of DocAve Online, we are now supporting 1 million Office 365 production users and protecting 10.5 terabytes of data (and counting). As Microsoft continues to emphasize the move to Azure and Office 365 for all enterprises, our dedication in building Azure-based SaaS solutions across the areas of infrastructure management, data governance, and compliance – and our success in selling them into the enterprise – is helping us become a strategic Azure partner for Microsoft.

I’ll be joining the thousands attending Worldwide Partner Conference 2014 in Washington, DC next month, Microsoft’s premier event for its partner ecosystem. I’m excited to meet with Microsoft executives and fellow partners to gauge where Microsoft is heading and how we can continue to ensure we are focusing our business on the future of the way the world works. While it’s an honor to have received such high praise and recognition, one thing that we have learned is that we can never sit on our laurels – the market moves at a frenetic pace, and we must always keep moving forward.

Onwards!
