Microsoft TechEd Europe 2013 – The Week so Far

Today begins day three of Microsoft TechEd Europe 2013, and with two more days left in the conference there is no sign of the excitement letting up at AvePoint’s booth (#S3).

As mentioned in a previous post, we’ve been highlighting different themes each day. On Tuesday and Wednesday, attendees stopped by our booth to learn about our latest products and solutions for productivity and cloud computing. Today we will highlight compliance and governance, and products like Compliance Guardian and the recently released DocAve Governance Automation Service Pack (SP) 3 will be on display.

Today and Friday, attendees will have the opportunity to learn from AvePoint Chief Architect and Microsoft SharePoint MVP Jeremy Thake in two separate sessions that he will lead:

· Tips You Need to Know for Creating Apps for Microsoft Office and SharePoint 2013 – 3:15pm – 4:30pm, Thursday, June 27 – This session covers tools and techniques for building apps for Microsoft Office and SharePoint, including architecting for cross-domain scenarios and types of apps.

· Creating Windows Phone 8 Apps for Microsoft SharePoint – 10:15am – 11:30am, Friday, June 28 – This session covers the tools, techniques, and best practices for building great Windows Phone apps that interact with SharePoint 2013.

We’re also happy to have SharePoint MVP Dan Holme at our booth for a special book signing and greeting at 1:30pm. His book signings are always very popular, so make you’re on time!

On Monday, attendees stopped by AvePoint’s booth to grab a red pedometer to participate in our Stride towards Collaboration initiative. Hundreds of pedometers were snatched up within the first few hours of the event, and walkers have stopped by ever since to proudly display the amount of steps they’ve taken throughout the conference. They will turn in the pedometers by 5pm this afternoon and the individual who has taken the most steps will be announced at 2pm tomorrow and walk away with a brand new Microsoft Surface. Until then, keep moving!

And of course, we couldn’t forget about the shiny red Vespa that sits in the front of our booth. Attendees have been bringing their tickets (found in the AvePoint brochure in the TechEd Europe backpacks given out at registration) by with hopes of riding the scooter away at the end of the week. On Friday at 2pm we will know who takes the big prize. Stay tuned to find out who it is!

Finally, we appreciated everyone who joined us on Tuesday night to kick off the event in style with The Red Party. Customers, partners, and lots of other friendly faces packed Club Lolita to enjoy hors d’oeuvres and drinks, dance to the sounds of DJ Duck Toy and a live electric violinist, and watch painter create the work pictured below right before their eyes. We had a great time and hope you did too! Swing by our Facebook page to see some photos from the event and stay tuned for more.

If you’re in Madrid, be sure to stop by Booth #S3 today or Friday. Chat with our team, see a demo, learn how we’re helping more than 10,000 customers worldwide collaborate with confidence, and find out how we can help you do the same. We hope to see you there!
