International Women’s Day 2021: 3 Simple Challenges for Every Day

What do you #ChooseToChallenge today and every day moving forward?

Women’s history month is a time for celebration and reflection. Sitting here in the U.S., it is incredible to think that it was only 100 years ago that the 19th Amendment was ratified, giving women the right to vote.

On International Women’s Day we highlight and reinvigorate the strides we’ve made because it was so easy to get lost, call those goals impossible, and give up.

The Nineteenth Amendment was introduced in 1878 and ratified in 1920, so that’s 32 years of an uphill battle for a right that we now get to exercise.

32 years.

So what status quo will you challenge this day, year, or lifetime?

I’ve teamed up with colleagues around the world to keep the conversation going. Take a peek, see what we have to say, and share your thoughts on what you #ChooseToChallenge!

The work starts with you, to be open-minded and challenge the small behaviors you can change in your everyday life.

Maybe starting today, challenge yourself to:

  1. Rise above imposter syndrome: recognize that self-doubt and give it the boot. Your hard work got you here, you absolutely belong.
  2. Celebrate women’s achievements: create a platform for voices to be heard and encourage others to speak up in all of your communities, personal and professional
  3. Embrace imperfections: nothing needs to be perfect to be brilliant. Your unique perspective is your most valuable asset, so speak up without hesitation.

For each and every day, I am grateful to stand next to my colleagues who share a similar vision. Our goal is to create a space for discussion and respectful dialogue. For women, allies, and curious minds of all genders, we welcome you to join us in the conversation.
