AvePoint was a Global Platinum Sponsor of Microsoft Ignite|The Tour in Sydney from February 13-14. It was a 2-day conference that brought together developers, tech professionals, and experts. The 2019 conference had more than 100 deep-dive sessions and workshops that allowed attendees to explore the latest technologies and gain practical insights on the future of cloud development, data, IT, and business intelligence.

We had a lot of good conversations with the conference-goers around how AvePoint can help them migrate, manage and protect SharePoint and Office365 and make the most of Microsoft Teams. Here are three of the core questions we answered:

1. How does AvePoint help organizations govern Office 365? 

AvePoint’s governance solution helps define who can create, edit, and delete data. They also specify where content or workspaces are hosted and stored. What makes our governance solution unique to other vendors is that we can automate governance across the entire lifecycle. It will automatically revert out-of-policy changes, inform users of what’s available, and give guidelines on appropriate usage.   

2. What’s the difference between AvePoint and Microsoft? 

AvePoint is a Global ISV partner of Microsoft. AvePoint began as a startup technology company serving early adopters of SharePoint. Our backup, migration, management, and governance solutions are designed to complement the Microsoft solutions stack. In short, our job is to make Microsoft’s Office 365 products and services easier to use and adopt.

3. How can AvePoint help my organisation to adopt and manage Microsoft Teams? 

This was one of the main topics of discussion during the conference. Who should be able to create Teams and Office 365 Groups? If users are allowed to self-provision in Microsoft Teams and other Office 365 workspaces, how do you properly manage that?
