What’s New in Fly Server?
Faster SharePoint Discovery
Fly Server 4.9 offers up some new options for faster discovery! When performing pre-migration discovery for SharePoint data, you can now choose between Quick Mode or Detailed Mode. Opt for Quick mode when you want a fast discovery where a summary is sufficient or go with Detailed mode for summary information along with risks, limitations, and warnings. The new Discovery will also detect if a SharePoint site is connected to a Microsoft 365 Group, and it will report which workflow actions are within Nintex Workflows.
Make Files Fly with New Migration Options
SharePoint Subscription Edition: Fly Server now supports migrating from SharePoint 2010 and 2013 to SharePoint Subscription Edition (SE) – formerly known as vNext.
Box Migration: When migrating from Box to One Drive for Business, you can now generate an output report that will display if files have been shared with external users. Additionally, Fly Server now offers a separate tool that will notify the external users of the new location of the file in One Drive for Business.
Microsoft Teams Migration:
- Delegated App Support for Teams Migrations: You can now use the delegated app profile in the connection to grant permissions required to read/write team data to the service account.
- Convert Teams Channels: You can now migrate standard channels to private channels and migrate private channels to standard channels.
- Support for Tags within Teams: Teams with tags are now supported with this release. Tags will be shown in discovery, and they can be migrated as well. They’ll show up inline within channels complete with the @mentions.
- Support for Migrating the Settings for Dynamic Membership: A new option allows you to migrate settings only (not users), and membership will populate in the destination based on the dynamic settings that were migrated.
Define and Monitor
Filter policies allow you to define rules for which objects and data you want to include (or exclude) in your migration, which vary depending upon the workload. With this release, Fly Server now allows you to import filter policies in bulk from a spreadsheet.
Fly Server now offers two new reporting modules, SharePoint (both on-prem and online), and File Systems, so you can easily access and view the migration status and summary of migration projects on a standalone Report page.
