Munich – there’s no other major German city where tradition meets innovation so much. The city is now more than 850 years old and is booming like never before!

The Bavarian culture has a long tradition and is very popular around the globe. When you wander through Munich’s streets, you encounter culture and history at every turn! Magnificent buildings and castles, museums, squares steeped in history, a multitude of parks like the Olympia Park or the Castle Park Nymphenburg; these are all these places that shape the cityscape of Munich and give the city its unique charm.

Munich is also known for its fifth season “the Wiesn” or, as most international visitors say, Oktoberfest. The festival has been held on the Theresienwiese in the heart of the city since 1810. The original occasion for the celebration was the wedding of Princess Therese and Crown Prince Ludwig of Bavaria. Dressed in lederhosen and dirndl, Munich residents and visitors from all over the world still enjoy Oktoberfest beer and Bavarian specialties more than 200 years later.

Munich is also innovative! International tech companies invest heavily here. Therefore, Munich is secretly referred to as “Isar Valley” in reference to California’s Silicon Valley, the most important location for the IT industry in the world.

Of course, Munich is also home to AvePoint. In this office we have about 55 employees and a great mix of teams from Mid-Market and Enterprise Sales, Channel, Marketing, Technical, Administration, IT, Support, Legal, and HR.

Located in the heart of Munich

 

We are located at the Stiglmaierplatz in the district Maxvorstadt. Maxvorstadt is a central district of Munich. With its classicist buildings, museums and universities, the district is representative of art, culture, and education. And we can confirm, being in the heart of Munich has its perks!

Our Munich office is an excellent location for those living in the centre and suburbs of Munich, as there are many forms of public transportation available to employees commuting to the office. In the immediate surroundings of our office you will find the popular Löwenbräukeller with its beer garden as well as numerous restaurants, which are especially popular for lunch breaks!

Our Office Culture

At AvePoint we embrace our three core values of Agility, Passion, and Teamwork. With that in mind, we established an open concept layout in our office to facilitate open communication and collaboration while working.

The open window fronts flood the office with lots of natural sunlight during the day, which helps create a warm atmosphere. Part of our open layout is that we share desks. Our new Desk Booking App makes it easy for everyone to reserve their seat and to collaborate with different teams and colleagues on different days!

Team Building

Every quarter we usually get together to do something fun typically centered around a Munich event or tradition. A casual get-together outside the workplace not only boosts team spirit, but also fosters unique exchanges between the different departments.

Although an in-office connection was not possible for our European regions throughout most of 2020 and 2021 due to COVID-19, our hope is to get back to our new normal as quickly and safely as possible. Whether it’s weekly socials on Friday afternoon or visiting the Octoberfest, these get-togethers allow our teams to connect and build relationships with each other away from the daily business.

Most recently, our team celebrated the great milestone of AvePoint going public. It was a great way to connect and get the team together for a sunny afternoon in Munich!

We also participate in community outreach events as an office. This is the result of our AvePoint Philanthropy programme, which is dedicated to impacting humanity and driving change through three main pillars: Technology, Community and Education. As part of one of our community actions in the past years, we’ve supported a local social institution that provides afterschool care for children of all ages from different family backgrounds as helpers to enhance the fort in their community spaces.
