That’s a wrap, folks! Last month, we completed the third season of “AvePoint Idol,” an internal competition and journey across the globe aimed to find AvePoint “contestants” who embody our core values – agility, passion, and teamwork. This season included 3 rounds:
1. The Audition
During this segment, we heard our employees’ voices on their social media accounts. Qualifiers posted AvePoint-related content to their personal LinkedIn pages weekly on product updates, blogs, industry-related topics, webinars, and videos. Contestants had 2 weeks of auditions before making it to our next round, the semi-finals.
2. The Semi-Finals
As the competition heated up, our semi-finalists demonstrated how well they knew the company with a trivia-meets-scavenger-hunt game. Our contestants networked within the company to answer questions and collect facts about our people, history, awards, and benefits. Semi-finalists with the highest scores made it into our last round…the finale!
3. The Finale
Our finalists performed in the spotlight by creating short movies or comic strips on how they embody our core values. Original and VERY creative entries were published on our internal social platform, Yammer, where our global staff hit the polls and cast their vote for the most deserving contestants.
It was a very close call between all 3 finalists, but ultimately, Hunter Willis (Solutions Engineer, Richmond) was crowned with the coveted “AvePoint Idol” title! Check out his winning entry below. What did they win?!?!
Since all 3 of our finalists put forth incredible effort, AvePoint had prizes for everyone! These included tickets and airfare for the first place winner and his +1 to attend Microsoft’s Ignite conference in Orlando in September, a Microsoft Surface Pro for second place, and a Surface Go for third place.
