How to Work Hard & Play Hard, the Australian Way!

-

The 4th quarter was a busy one in Australia as we worked to ensure year-end targets and deliverables were met. It was especially critical here, as many businesses slow down in January during summer holidays. However, a classic film once taught us that “all work and no play” results in less-than-stellar outcomes, so here’s how we played hard while still smashing targets!

Keep Calm & Carry On

A few months ago, our Sydney and Melbourne offices partnered with Corporate Hands, a vendor that provides professional massage therapists for onsite office visits. Our staff was able to indulge in massages that helped relax and re-energize us!

Fun in the Sun

I’m no doctor, but studies show that Vitamin D – which can be absorbed from sun exposure – and exercise result in positive health benefits. We decided it was best to combine both! The Melbourne team had a blast participating in AFL 9s (non-tackle football) at the annual Corporate Games held in Albert Park.

Celebrate Wins

While our AFL wins were far and few between, our internal wins were just the opposite! We are always looking forward to what we can accomplish next, but we still take time to recognize accomplishments. A Friday arvo outing at Arbory Afloat did the trick this past quarter!

Giving Back

Core to AvePoint is our Philanthropy program where we partner with and give back to our local communities.

The Sydney team did so by spending a Thursday morning helping set up Christmas Markets in Martin Place. This is a very busy center, but we helped vendors unload their cars and organize their tents. All profits from the market went towards improving and extending the lives of people with cystic fibrosis.

Our Australia teams also got thrifty and participated in a ‘spring cleaning’ clothing donation drive. Collection stations were set up in Melbourne and Sydney where employees were encouraged to rid their closets of excess and donate gently-worn items. Organizations like Clothing Cleanup and the Red Cross made sure the donations went to those in need.
