The Week that Was: AvePoint at SharePoint Conference 2011 #SPC11

Microsoft SharePoint Conference (SPC) 2011 invaded Anaheim, CA last week, with upwards of 6,000 people packing the Anaheim Convention Center to learn how new innovations in SharePoint 2010 can help them meet their business objectives. The twitterverse was abuzz as Microsoft executives and key industry influencers shared their thoughts on SharePoint’s past, present, and future.

AvePoint, a Platinum & Keynote sponsor of SPC 2011, officially introduced its two latest product offerings at the show:
1. DocAve 6, the enterprise-class management platform for SharePoint governance
2. Governance Automation, an comprehensive, end-to-end service and information management offering

To help kick off SPC 2011 and celebrate the release of its new offerings, AvePoint held its renowned RED Party on Monday night at the posh Heat Ultra Lounge in the heart of Anaheim. The venue was filled to capacity, as more than 700 community members – including SharePoint MVPs, AvePoint executives, Microsoft VIPs, & more – celebrated 10 years of Microsoft SharePoint. To help commemorate the event, AvePoint had an old-school photo booth set up at the party. Check out all of the pictures by visiting our Facebook page. Also, check out our blog post on DocAve.com for even more details on the party.

Throughout SPC 2011, AvePoint held product demonstrations and met with SPC 2011 attendees in the expo hall at Booth 601. In the AvePoint Theater, sessions outlined proven practices for SharePoint governance, storage optimization, and hybrid management. Check out some videos of customers giving their thoughts on AvePoint solutions and hot SharePoint topics after each session below by visiting our YouTube page.

In addition to the AvePoint Theater sessions, our resident SharePoint experts – including SharePoint MVPs Dan Holme, Jeremy Thake, and Randy Williams, as well as AvePoint Vice President of Global Account Product Management John Hodges – all led sessions during the Office & SharePoint track at SPC 2011.

To close out the conference, we held our popular Ducati giveaway – this year handing over a Ducati Monster 796 to Tammy Tannahill of Collective Brands in Kansas City … the first woman to win the prize since the Ducati giveaways began in 2008. Check out our video for the raffle and giveaway by our Co-CEO Dr. Tianyi (TJ) Jiang. Congratulations, Tammy!
For those who attended SPC 2011 – what was your favorite part of the conference?
