Another SPTechCon is in the books, and it was another successful event for AvePoint and the members of our team who traveled up to Boston last week. With a prime booth location, a Diamond Sponsorship, a new product announcement, and several AvePoint-led speaking sessions, there was plenty of excitement generated about our company and our products throughout the week.
For AvePoint, the event kicked off on the night of Monday, August 12 with a round of Lightning Talks – a series of five minute speaking sessions given by various experts across the Microsoft SharePoint industry. AvePoint had two participants in the Lightning Talks, as Chief Architect and SharePoint MVP Jeremy Thake and Sr. Product Manager Shyam Oza took the floor to give their respective presentations. Shyam spoke to the crowd about Policy Enforcer, which empowers organizations with complete control and unmatched governance enforcement, while Jeremy showed attendees how to outsmart the chaos with our SharePoint 2013 productivity app AvePoint Meetings.
Tuesday, August 13 was the first day that the expo hall opened, and attendees were greeted by the AvePoint booth, and our brand new AvePoint Perimeter banner, announcing our new mobility product that launched the same day. Booth traffic was heavy throughout the day, as AvePoint experts spoke to attendees and gave demonstrations of AvePoint solutions like Compliance Guardian, Governance Automation, and AvePoint Perimeter.

Jeremy also had the first of his two technical classes on Tuesday morning, as he shared his app-building playbook for the SharePoint 2013 Marketplace. His second technical class, which took place on the following day, covered application life-cycle management in SharePoint 2013.

Wednesday, August 14 was another day filled with action at the booth, but not before Jeremy gave the third and final keynote of the event in the morning. Jeremy spoke to a packed room about the future of social collaboration in the enterprise, detailing his vision of where he sees the concept of enterprise social networking moving in the future, including information and best practices around SharePoint’s social functionality and Yammer.

Finally, AvePoint wrapped up the week by giving away a Microsoft Surface to a lucky SPTechCon attendee before packing up and heading home. Congratulations to Rick Penezic of Fidelity Investments on taking home the prize!
