AvePoint’s Global Headquarters in Jersey City upheld tradition on Thursday, July 23, and returned to Bowlmor Lanes at Chelsea Piers for our annual team building bowling night. This was our third year at Bowlmor, but our sixth annual bowling event overall. Why so many years in a row you ask? While the HR Team coordinates at least one company-wide team building event per quarter, bowling night continues to be our most popular outing, so we keep going!
Participating employees were split into teams of 6-8, and then assigned to lanes for the evening. Teams could play as many games as they wanted within a two-hour time frame while enjoying pizza and beverages to their fill.
As the games began, each employee showcased their own strategies and bowling styles. Some determined that it’s important to fuel up prior to playing and targeted the pizza before the pins. Then there were others who couldn’t spare to waste a moment, and jumped right into a game.
Before long all of the games kicked off! As teammates took turns trying for strikes and spares, the others cheered them on, creating a great sense of camaraderie among players.
However, as the night went on, the teams became progressively more competitive – all in good fun, of course! The day after the event we announced the highest scores, so the stakes for bragging rights were pretty high, especially for any returning champions. This year’s top score went to Terence Orpilla, Product Manager, and close behind him was Sandip Kumar, EPG Account Executive, as the runner up.
Regardless of the scores, the event was a great time as always! We will definitely be back again next year!
