Hallo! Greetings from The Netherlands!
The AvePoint team had an amazing week here at Microsoft TechEd Europe 2012 in Amsterdam!
We started out the week right when our own Jeremy Thake, AvePoint Chief Architect & SharePoint MVP, took the stage with Microsoft’s Mark Russinovich at the TechEd EMEA 2012 Opening Keynote for a Windows Azure & DocAve Demo. We’re always honored to be asked to showcase our solutions, especially in front of one of the biggest IT audiences one could ask for! Jeremy was also pulled into a Microsoft Office 365 session to demo DocAve by Microsoft’s Alistair Speirs – good stuff!
Later that night, we got out our red while partner K2 busted out some green to host a few hundred of our closest friends at Jimmy Woo’s. The DJ spun late into the night and a good time was had by all. Our AvePoint EMEA Marketing team knows how to plan a fun and comfortable event!
The buzz around our booth all week was palpable – Jeremy; Heather Newman, AvePoint Vice President of Global Marketing; and our awesome EMEA marketing, sales, and SE teams were on hand to spend time answering questions and provide in-depth demos for those interested attendees. Cloud, replication, and governance automation were the hot topics. Evangelist and SharePoint MVP Dan Holme also presented sessions, hosted customer meetings, and even a book signing of his latest book – Configuring Microsoft SharePoint 2010 – in the AvePoint booth.
And of course, we have to give away the best ride in town! On hand this week? A Mad Max Quad Bike that caused quite a stir. Our winner, Sammy Dalewyn of AGIV, left the conference in style as the winner of our bike on his birthday! Now that is how you end a great week!
And what better time is there to be in Europe than during Euro 2012? In the last few months, I’ve watched the National Hockey League playoffs in Toronto, Canada, and now I’m getting to watch Euro 2012 in Amsterdam – not too bad for this sports fan! What an amazing atmosphere to watch some great futbol! Even our own staff was torn between games, displaying their country pride. But good luck to Italy and Spain on Sunday!
Well, time to get packed and back across the pond – more to come from Microsoft Worldwide Partner Conference from July 8 – 13!
Great to meet with everyone on the TechEd stand and see the presentations on your latest products and services too.
Jimmy Woo’s was a great idea and evening – well done to all of the organisers from Avepoint and K2 for making it a great night out ! Photos look fantastic.
A huge crowd for the drawing of the quad bike prize, great to hear that the winner, Sammy was also celebrating his birthday.
See you all next year
