Join AvePoint at the eHealth NSW Expo 2016

The theme of eHealth NSW Expo 2016 is “Shake it Up! New thinking, fresh ideas,” and we want to help you do just that by making sure you have the right tools to collaborate and innovate at your organisation. We’ll be at the event on Friday, August 5 in Sydney, and our onsite team will be happy to share how our customers are maximising their SharePoint and Office 365 investments with the help of our migration, management, and protection solutions – and how you can, too.

When choosing the right collaboration platform for your organisation, these are three key considerations:

1. Does your current platform adequately meet your needs?

The first thing to consider is whether your existing enterprise content management (ECM) platform is sufficient. Assess how your ECM is being used across the organisation to understand whether you need to explore other options. Are there gaps in functionality that are available in another platform? Can these gaps be addressed by adopting third-party solutions? Whether you’re on an older version of SharePoint or your own in-house system, you may be missing out on capabilities in newer platforms that meet the unique needs of a health organization.

2. Do you have the resources to migrate?

There’s a lot of planning involved in a SharePoint migration. From performing data discovery in your legacy environment to adoption, migration can consume a lot of your IT bandwidth. If that’s the case, it may be beneficial to engage a Migration-as-a-Service (MaaS) provider whose expertise can get you to your new environment safely, quickly, and without losing any data.

3. What data lives in your current environment?

Evaluate your IT system to determine what you have, and what you want to migrate to your new platform. Often, these two things are not equal. To optimize your new environment for your end users, you’ll likely want to reorganize content. Build this time into your migration project planning and ensure you have the right tools to do so.
