AvePoint Product Update: This Cloud Records March Release is a Game Changer!

Cloud Records came out from behind to take control of all your records, whether they’re electronic or physical! We’re constantly making improvements to our robust and flexible platform to ensure it can handle a vast array of situations. Our March release makes a slam dunk in the functionality available for your Records Manager to manage their content across SharePoint.

Record Retention

Have you ever tried to balance both a collaboration space in Office 365 while trying to ensure nothing is deleted or destroyed outside of an authorized process? Yeah, we get it. That’s why this release includes records retention, to ensure the true retention of content until it’s been actioned by a business rule that’s been defined by a records manager.

So, as soon as a piece of content has had a classification or file plan term attached to it, it can’t be deleted. It’ll be retained until it’s actioned by a defined rule that’s been configured by your records manager. This ensures your organization can maintain the integrity of your records by keeping them for the right amount of time without a user inadvertently or intentionally deleting a record.

Default Classification on Folders

Right now, in the SharePoint settings menu, you can scroll down through site collections, sites, and libraries and add unique classification or file plan terms to these locations. With this release, we’re extending capabilities to let your records manager put a default classification on a folder through the Cloud Records interface. Cloud Records just got more flexible and accessible to manage any content in an Office 365 environment.
