As part of this agreement, AvePoint has developed an integrated SharePoint backup product for IBM Tivoli Storage Manager, and is providing SharePoint expertise to IBM’s worldwide sales and support teams.
The integrated product represents industry-leading aspects of both companies’ technologies. AvePoint, through their DocAve software platform, is the recognized market leader in backup, data migration, archiving, disaster recovery, content management, and auditing solutions specifically developed for the Microsoft SharePoint platform. As part of the IBM Service Management initiative, TSM plays an integral role in helping customers optimize storage assets, protect the integrity of their data and comply with data retention requirements. The integrated product extends DocAve’s SharePoint capabilities to TSM, while preserving TSM’s support for hundreds of devices and automatic policy-based management features. AvePoint and IBM will provide unparalleled data protection solutions for customers’ SharePoint deployments, leveraging IBM’s global installed base and award-winning channel programs.
The seamless integration of the products has been reinforced by AvePoint with the full, hands on training for the IBM TSM’s sales and support staff. This training includes on site labs and presentations that are being conducted in 17 cities throughout the world as well as numerous other training sessions.
